Queen Anne

Queen Anne is located north of downtown Seattle and south of the Fremont area, Queen Anne is both a vibrant neighborhood and one of the tallest hills in Seattle (456 ft tall). The Duwamish, Shilshole and Suquamish tribes originally settled the area. In 1851, members of the Arthur A. Denny party arrived and began settling the area. Initially called "Eden Hill", the name was changed to Queen Anne Hill during the 1880's after numerous homes were built on it in the "Queen Anne" style of architecture.
